Why Visit Jaipur

Jaipur, founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is known as the "Pink City." Its grid-plan reveals what is Jaipur famous for in urban design. Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar are top attractions in Jaipur, showcasing unique Rajput architecture.

Nestled amidst the Aravalli Hills, Jaipur offers views from Nahargarh Fort, often overlooked for its hidden stepwell, Baori. Beyond the usual, a Jaipur travel guide suggests experiencing a traditional puppet show at Suraj Talkies, a historic cinema, for an authentic local evening.

One of the best reasons to visit Jaipur is its culinary scene. Savor Dal Baati Churma, but also try Kachori at Rawat Mishtan Bhandar. Seek out Gatte ki Sabzi from a small, family-run eatery near Tripolia Bazaar for an authentic taste, avoiding larger tourist traps.

The Pink City does not disappoint!

Jaipur is something else. The Hawa Mahal alone is worth the trip - just standing in front of it and staring up is wild. The street food scene is great too, especially the dal baati churma. People are warm and the city has so much energy.

Best bazaar shopping I have ever done

Johari Bazaar is absolutely mad in the best way. Jewelry, textiles, block-printed fabrics everywhere you look. Prices are reasonable if you bargain a little. The colors and craftsmanship are on another level. Came back with way too many bags and zero regrets.

Forts, palaces and seriously good food

Amber Fort blew me away - the scale of it, the carvings, the views over the hills. And the food around the old city is fantastic. Tried laal maas for the first time and wow, that spice hit is real. If you like history and good eating, this place ticks every box.

A city that sticks with you

There is a realness to Jaipur that I really liked. Not over-polished, just genuinely alive. The architecture around the City Palace area is stunning and walking through the old walled city feels like stepping back in time. Rickshaw rides are chaotic but totally fun.

Great city for photography lovers

Every corner you turn there is something worth photographing. The rose-pink buildings, the busy markets, the elephants near Amer - it is a visual feast. Sunset from Nahargarh Fort is honestly one of the best views I have seen on any trip. Highly recommend going up there.

Brilliant winter destination

December is a great time to visit - not too hot, skies are clear and the light is gorgeous. Walked around Tripolia Bazaar for hours just soaking it all in. Tried pyaaz kachori from a street stall and it was ridiculously good. The whole city has a lot going on and keeps surprising you.
